Listing Guidelines
These guidelines help keep VendoAU safe and legal for everyone. Violations may result in listing removal, account suspension, or legal referral.
Allowed
Most everyday goods and services, with honest descriptions and fair pricing.
Restricted
Some categories require licences, verification, or additional compliance.
Prohibited
Strictly forbidden items. Listings removed immediately. Serious cases referred to authorities.
Prohibited Items
Weapons & Firearms
- ✕ Firearms and handguns (except licensed dealers in permitted categories)
- ✕ Ammunition
- ✕ Silencers / suppressors
- ✕ Illegal knives (e.g. flick knives, butterfly knives)
- ✕ Tasers and stun guns
- ✕ Knuckledusters / brass knuckles
Drugs & Substances
- ✕ Illicit drugs (cannabis, MDMA, cocaine, methamphetamine, etc.)
- ✕ Drug paraphernalia for illegal use
- ✕ Prescription medicines without a valid prescription
- ✕ Pseudoephedrine and precursor chemicals
- ✕ Nitrous oxide for recreational use
Illegal & Harmful
- ✕ Stolen goods or items obtained by illegal means
- ✕ Counterfeit or pirated goods
- ✕ Human body parts, organs, tissue, or blood
- ✕ Items from protected species (ivory, rhino horn, etc.)
- ✕ Items that circumvent DRM or security measures
- ✕ Spy equipment (hidden cameras, phone spyware)
Exploitative Content
- ✕ Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — immediately reported to ACMA/AFP
- ✕ Any sexual content involving minors
- ✕ Non-consensual intimate images
- ✕ Adult content outside the designated Adult section
Financial & Fraudulent
- ✕ Pyramid schemes or multi-level marketing recruitment
- ✕ Unlicensed financial products or investment schemes
- ✕ Fake reviews or testimonials for sale
- ✕ Academic fraud (essays, exam papers)
- ✕ Fake government documents or IDs
Animals & Wildlife
- ✕ Protected Australian wildlife
- ✕ Exotic pets not permitted for sale under Australian law
- ✕ Any animal mistreatment or illegal breeding practices
- ✕ Venomous reptiles without appropriate licences
Restricted Categories

| Alcohol | Requires valid liquor licence. Only commercial licensees permitted. |
| Tobacco & Vaping | Tobacco and nicotine vaping products restricted. No sales to under-18s. |
| Prescription medicines | Only by licensed pharmacists or healthcare providers. |
| Security equipment | CCTV systems for legitimate use only. No covert surveillance. |
| Laser pointers | Only Class 2 or below. Higher-powered lasers require justification. |
| Trade tools & equipment | May be listed but buyers verify licensing where required. |
| Adult goods | Only in the Adult section. Age verification required. State law applies. |
| Real estate & rentals | Agents must display licence number. No unlicensed letting. |
Best Practices for Listings
- Use accurate, honest titles and descriptions
- Post clear, well-lit photos from multiple angles
- Set a fair price — research what similar items sell for
- Disclose any faults, damage, or defects
- Respond to enquiries promptly
- Post in the correct category
- Include your general suburb (not full address)
- Keep contact details in your profile — use the contact reveal system
See something wrong?
Use the Report button on any listing to flag it for review. After 3 reports, a listing is automatically suspended pending admin review. You can also email trust@vendoau.com.au for urgent matters.
⚖️ Australian Law Applies
All listings must comply with Australian federal and state law, including the Australian Consumer Law, the Therapeutic Goods Act, the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act, and all relevant state and territory legislation. VendoAU cooperates with Australian law enforcement agencies. Serious violations may be referred to the AFP, ACMA, or state police.
