1. About VendoAU
VendoAU ("we", "us", "our") operates an online classifieds marketplace at vendoau.com.au ("the Platform") connecting buyers and sellers across Australia. We are not a party to any transaction between users. We provide the Platform as a venue only.

We are committed to operating in compliance with Australian federal and state laws, including the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), Australian Consumer Law (ACL), Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), Online Safety Act 2021, and all applicable state-based legislation.
2. User Responsibilities
To use VendoAU you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age;
- Provide accurate and complete registration information;
- Maintain only one account per person;
- Not list prohibited items (see Section 4);
- Only list items you own or have authority to sell;
- Meet buyers and sellers safely in person before completing any transaction;
- Not be banned, suspended, or previously removed from the Platform;
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately at support@vendoau.com.au of any unauthorised use.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or are abandoned. You may not create multiple accounts or share accounts with others.
4. Prohibited Items
The following items are strictly prohibited on VendoAU:
- Weapons — guns, large knives, ammunition (except legally licensed sellers in permitted categories)
- Illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia
- Stolen goods or items obtained by illegal means
- Counterfeit or trademark-infringing items
- Tobacco and cigarettes
- Alcohol (except licensed resellers where permitted)
- Sexual services (outside of the designated, ID-verified Adult section)
- Any item illegal under Australian federal or state law
- Human body parts, organs, or tissue
- Child exploitation material or anything that sexualises minors
- Protected wildlife or items made from protected species under the EPBC Act 1999
- Pyramid schemes, MLM recruitment, or investment solicitations
We reserve the right to remove any listing at our sole discretion without notice. Repeated violations will result in account suspension or permanent ban.
5. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Post false or misleading information in any listing or communication;
- Scam, defraud, or attempt to defraud any other user;
- Harass, abuse, threaten, or discriminate against other users;
- Create or use multiple accounts;
- Share bank details, account numbers, or payment credentials in messages;
- Request or send payment before meeting in person to inspect the item;
- Scrape, crawl, or automate access to the Platform;
- Circumvent any technical measure or security control;
- Impersonate another person or organisation;
- Introduce malware, viruses, or harmful code.
6. Transactions
- VendoAU is a platform only — we are NOT a party to any transaction;
- VendoAU does NOT guarantee any transaction;
- VendoAU is NOT responsible for the quality or condition of items;
- VendoAU is NOT responsible for fraud or scams between users;
- Users transact entirely at their own risk;
- Always meet in person before paying anything;
- Never send money before seeing and inspecting the item in person.
7. Vehicles — Special Conditions
Buyers acknowledge significant risks in purchasing a vehicle, including:
- Unknown or disguised mechanical defects;
- Risk of accident caused by vehicle defects;
- Risk of physical injury from faulty vehicles.
Sellers of vehicles must:
- Accurately describe vehicle condition;
- Disclose any known defects or damage;
- Disclose accident history if known;
- Disclose if vehicle has been written off;
- Disclose if vehicle has finance owing;
- Provide accurate odometer reading;
- Not tamper with odometer readings (illegal under Australian Consumer Law).
VendoAU strongly recommends buyers:
- Obtain a PPSR check at ppsr.gov.au;
- Have the vehicle independently inspected by a qualified mechanic;
- Check registration via the relevant state authority;
- Never pay before completing a full in-person inspection.
VendoAU is NOT responsible for the mechanical condition of vehicles, accuracy of odometer readings, finance owing on vehicles, stolen vehicles listed on the Platform, or any accidents caused by vehicles purchased through the Platform.
8. Jobs — Special Conditions
Employers posting jobs must:
- Comply with all Australian Employment Laws, including the Fair Work Act 2009;
- Comply with all anti-discrimination laws;
- Not advertise roles below the applicable minimum wage;
- Not discriminate based on age, gender, race, religion, disability, or any other protected attribute;
- Accurately describe the role and its requirements.
VendoAU is NOT an employment agency, a party to any employment contract, responsible for employment decisions, or responsible for workplace incidents.
Job seekers acknowledge that VendoAU does not verify employer legitimacy, and users apply for jobs at their own risk. Never pay to apply for a job.
9. Trades & Services — Special Conditions
Trade service providers must:
- Hold all required licences and accreditations for their trade;
- Maintain current public liability insurance;
- Comply with all relevant Australian Standards;
- Comply with state-based licensing requirements;
- Not misrepresent qualifications or experience.
VendoAU does not independently verify trade licences, guarantee the quality of trade work, accept liability for work performed, or mediate payment disputes for services.
Customers engaging trades should always verify a licence before engaging, obtain it from the relevant state authority, and get written quotes before work begins.
10. Property — Special Conditions
Property listers must:
- Be the owner or an authorised agent of the property;
- Accurately describe property condition;
- Comply with relevant state tenancy laws;
- Not discriminate in rental selection;
- Comply with the Residential Tenancies Act for their state.
VendoAU is NOT a real estate agent, licensed to provide property advice, responsible for rental disputes, or responsible for property condition claims.
11. Content Moderation
- VendoAU may remove listings without notice;
- VendoAU may suspend or terminate accounts without notice for breaches of these Terms;
- Both AI and human moderation are used to review content;
- Appeals can be submitted to support@vendoau.com.au.
12. Fees & Payments
- New users receive 5 free listings;
- Premium features require payment;
- All prices are in AUD. VendoAU is not registered for GST, so no GST is charged;
- Refunds are available within 24 hours if the feature has not been used;
- No refunds are issued after 24 hours or once a feature has been used.
All payments are processed securely by Stripe. VendoAU does not store card details. Contact support@vendoau.com.au for billing queries.
13. Intellectual Property
Users must NOT post content that:
- Infringes the copyright of any third party;
- Uses trademarked brands without permission;
- Copies product descriptions from other websites;
- Uses photos taken from other websites;
- Reproduces copyrighted marketing material.
By posting content on VendoAU you confirm that:
- You own or have rights to all content posted;
- Photos are your own original photos;
- Descriptions are your own original writing;
- You grant VendoAU a non-exclusive licence to display your content on the Platform.
VendoAU will respond to valid copyright complaints under Australian copyright law. Send notices to: legal@vendoau.com.au
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, VendoAU is not liable for:
- Any loss arising from transactions between users;
- The accuracy, quality, or legality of items or services listed;
- Fraud or scams between users;
- The conduct of any user;
- Losses from third-party services (Stripe, Twilio, Resend, Supabase, Cloudflare);
- Indirect, consequential, or special loss of any kind.
VendoAU's maximum liability is limited to the fees paid by you in the preceding 12 months.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law, including rights to non-excludable statutory guarantees.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless VendoAU and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Platform;
- Your listings or any content you post;
- Your transactions with other users;
- Your breach of these Terms;
- Your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
16. Communications
By creating an account you consent to receive:
- Transactional emails (required for service operation);
- Security and account notices;
- Legal and policy updates.
You may opt out of:
- Marketing and promotional emails;
- Newsletter and product updates.
Transactional emails cannot be opted out of.
VendoAU complies with the Spam Act 2003 (Australia). All marketing emails include an unsubscribe link. Opt-out requests are honoured within 5 business days.
17. Dispute Resolution
Step 1 — Contact us first:
Email support@vendoau.com.au with full details. We will respond within 5 business days.
Step 2 — Mediation:
If unresolved, both parties agree to attempt mediation before commencing legal proceedings.
Step 3 — Legal proceedings:
If mediation fails, disputes are subject to the courts of the state where the user resides.
For disputes between users, VendoAU may provide mediation as a courtesy but is not obligated to resolve user-to-user disputes.

18. Termination
VendoAU may terminate or suspend your account for:
- Breach of these Terms;
- Fraudulent activity;
- Harassment of other users;
- Posting prohibited content;
- Providing false information.
Users may close their account at any time from the dashboard under Privacy & Data settings.
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia and, where applicable, the laws of the user's state or territory. Disputes are subject to the courts of the state or territory where the user resides. Australian Consumer Law rights are preserved in full.
20. Force Majeure
VendoAU is not liable for failure to provide services due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, internet outages, third-party service failures, or pandemic or health emergencies.
21. Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and VendoAU regarding use of the Platform and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
22. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
23. Waiver
Failure by VendoAU to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it in the future.
24. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. How we collect, use, and protect your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
25. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email and by prominent notice on the Platform at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
